By downloading, accessing, or using the MedCalc mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Service is owned and operated by Jitendra Bhardwaj and the MedCalc development team. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Strict Medical Disclaimer (Not Medical Advice)
MedCalc is a clinical decision-support tool intended exclusively for use by trained healthcare professionals, medical students, and clinicians.
- The formulas, scores, and information provided by the Service are for educational and informational purposes only.
- MedCalc does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment. * The Service is not a substitute for the independent professional judgment of a treating clinician. You must independently verify all calculations, dosages, and clinical guidelines before applying them to patient care.
- Reliance on any information provided by MedCalc is solely at your own risk. We assume no liability or responsibility for damage or injury to persons or property arising from any use of the Service.
3. User Accounts and Subscriptions
- Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
- Account Security: If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- Subscriptions: Certain advanced features of MedCalc may require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play), but refunds for partial billing periods are subject to the policies of those platforms.
4. HIPAA Compliance and Patient Data
MedCalc is designed with a zero-knowledge architecture regarding Protected Health Information (PHI). You agree that you will not use MedCalc to store, transmit, or back up identifying patient data in a manner that violates the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) or any other applicable healthcare privacy laws. All patient data inputs must be processed locally on your device and cleared after use.

5. Intellectual Property Rights
All content, features, algorithms, UI/UX designs, and functionality within MedCalc are the exclusive property of Jitendra Bhardwaj and its licensors. They are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without our express written consent.
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service:
- In any way that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- To exploit, harm, or attempt to exploit or harm minors or patients in any way.
- To introduce any viruses, trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful.
- To attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any parts of the Service or any server, computer, or database connected to the Service.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall MedCalc team, or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service;
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service;
- Any clinical decisions made or actions taken based on the calculations or information provided by the Service.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
